About Me

I've been working with php for nearly 5 years now. Only recently I started to realize this is what I'd like to be doing for as long as possible. I have started to broaden my skillset by looking deeper into CSS and reading up on jQuery.

My main focus is on, but not limited to, the greater Tucson, AZ area. I focus the majority of my work on php and MySQL (database driven websites) but my skillset's are listed here. My goal is to offer my services to people who want to create a website but don't have the means or an "unlimited" bank account.

My Skillset

php

I've been writing php code for about ~4 years now. Just recently started to see its full potential because I am in the process of getting a C++ certificate.

I try to write reusable and dynamic code, but inevitably with low level languages not everything will be perfect. My main focus is on the code side of things, I'm not exactly the most design inclined person.
HTML/CSS

I don't write HTML templates but I do have the ability of converting them into skins for most of the popular CMS'. *

At the moment, I don't write my own CSS from scratch. I haven't read up on DIV's enough to actually tie everything together. As stated above, I'm not very design oriented, but I am capable of modifying CSS to match the customers requests.
MySQL

Once I grasped the basics of php, I integrated MySQL and have been doing so for ~3.5 years now.

I am comfortable doing nearly anything with MySQL and I've been studying up on SQL injections and protecting data from being destroyed / stolen. The first step to any website I work on is to implement a cron job (if server allows) to run a backup script for the database.
js / jQuery

I've been working with javascript for ~1.5 years. I have an intermediate understading of javascript and am capable of writing standard scripts.

jQuery has taken the web by storm the last couple of years and I am a little behind. I started to learn more about jQuery and fortunately it was written with a better "learning curve" than javascript.

CakeWalk CMS

Type: Content Management

Designed the whole system from the ground up using php and MySQL. Boasts an admin panel that allows nearly 100% control of all aspects.

Used CakeWalk CMS as the content manager and setup the whole site. Created the plugins necessary specifically for the job (complete installation).
